Background
Professional:

Florida licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#MT0000494) and a Family
Mediator Certified by the Florida Supreme Court (5859F). He was licensed as a
therapist in 1982 during the first month of licensure for this specialty. He
has been in private practice since that time.

His work includes psychotherapy with individuals, couples, families and
professional associates.

He works closely with the family court system of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit
of Florida providing Parenting Evaluations as well as acting under court orders
as a Parenting Coordinator for high conflict families parenting children
following divorce.

Anger management therapy is also provided under the supervision of the Domestic
Violence Division of the Court.

Human relations training has been a part of David Kelley’s professional activity
since 1978 with the bulk of his work being done through the Institute of
Government at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, the Institute of
Government at the University of South Florida in Tampa, and the Institute of
Government at Florida State University in Tallahassee. These three universities
serve all the cities and counties on the West Coast of Florida from north Florida
to Collier County and east to Lake Okechobee. A partial list of
offerings and clients will follow.
A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Kelley has been married since 1969 and
is proud of his three grown sons, two daughters-in-law and
five grand children. He is active in water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing, fishing,
scuba diving, and cruises the Florida Keys and the Bahamas aboard his trawler, Elske. He holds a professional captain's license from the United States
Coast Guard.
